Producer: Founded in 1729 by Diego de Alvear y Escalera, Bodegas Alvear is the oldest winery in Andalusia and among Spain's most historic producers. Now in its eighth generation of family ownership, Alvear has remained true to its roots whilst pioneering innovations in Pedro Ximénez production. Located in the heart of Montilla-Moriles, the bodega owns 300 hectares of prime vineyard land in the Sierra de Montilla, where the Pedro Ximénez grape thrives in the region's albariza soils rich in calcium carbonate. Their Pedro Ximénez de Añada was the first vintage-dated PX sweet wine ever released in Montilla-Moriles history.
